Everything You Want to Know about Neon Sign

In recent years, a new trend in home decor has emerged: using neon lights to decorate homes. If you're interested but don't know much about neon lights, this article can help answer your questions.

1 What is a neon sign?

Traditional neon signs are made of glass tubes filled with neon or other rare gases. When powered on, the gas emits light, with different gases producing different colors. However, the neon lights used indoors today are LED neon signs. These are made from acrylic, plastic, and LED lights.

2 Do LED neon lights consume a lot of electricity?

One of the main advantages of LED neon lights is energy efficiency. They use less power compared to traditional neon lights. According to several manufacturers, a typical LED neon light consumes between 10 to 25 watts per meter. This means a 1-meter LED neon light will use 10 to 25 watts, and a 2-meter light will consume 20 to 50 watts. Additionally, LED neon lights are dimmable, allowing them to use even less power.

3 How long do LED neon lights last?

LED neon lights are known for their energy efficiency, durability, and long lifespan. Unlike traditional glass neon lights, which are fragile and require regular maintenance, LED neon lights are made from flexible, shatterproof materials and require almost no maintenance.

4 LED Neon Light Lifespan

The lifespan of LED neon lights depends on several factors, such as the quality of materials, the environment they're placed in, and how often they're used. Generally, high-quality LED neon lights can last between 50,000 to 100,000 hours, or even longer. If the light is kept on continuously, it could last about 5 to 10 years.

5 Can You Leave LED Neon Signs On All Night?

Yes, you can leave them on all night.

6 Are LED Neon Lights Safe Indoors?

Yes, modern neon lights no longer pose the risk of electric shock like older versions. As mentioned earlier, the plastic casing of LED neon lights is more durable and less likely to break than glass casing. Additionally, LEDs are safer and healthier compared to the discharge of rare gases in traditional neon lights.

7. Are LED Neon Signs Safe to Transport and Easy to Install?

Yes, they are. LED neon signs are less fragile than traditional glass signs, so there's less risk of damage during transport. They are also lighter and thinner, making them very easy to install. The installation is as simple as hanging a picture and plugging in the light.

8. How Hot Do Neon Signs Get?

Since all neon signs are LED, they operate at very low voltage. Even after being on for a long time, they only get slightly warm to the touch.
