The lights are great for the price but you get a very cheap remote which is line-of-sight. I need to walk out into the yard and get within about 8 feet before I can turn them on. However, they come back on if they were on when the power was removed - switched outlet. Now I can just turn them on or schedule them with a smart plug (Apple HomeKit outdoor plug from Meross).
These lights are pretty. They make a nice ambiance under our outdoor patio cover. The bulbs are made of plastic, which I like. The pictures show them on the dimmest setting and on the brightest setting on a rainy day. I used outdoor command hooks to hang them up, but honestly the command hooks look a little tacky so I would try to find something else.
The remote is handy. It has timer settings, which is nice. I like the ability to control how bright you want them also. There are a few settings on there called “flash”, “breathing”, and “slow” but I think anything other that steady light is annoying, so I just use them on “always.” The remote has to be pointed at a box on the plug, which can be tricky if your plug is behind a chair or concealed which usually they are.
Overall this is a nice set of outdoor lights. Just find a discrete way to hang them, and make sure that you have easy access to a plug so that the remote can reach it.
The length was good for my back fence. I wish they had a few more options for brightness, but for the money I won't complain. They were not the easiest to undo new out of box, about 15-20 min per strand to get them ready for install.
