Very simple assembly, love the ambiance they create. So many choices for different moods and moments!

They made this to be optional as far as height which is nice as it can be a desk lamp or a floor lamp. The body and construction of these is very well made, nicer than most. The top, which can be turned off, acts as centralized white lamp that is omni directional. Basically its two lamp utilities in one. The color controls are simple to use and creates a vivid projection of color. My only prob sometimes is the top lamp will come on when Im just turning on for color but generally no biggie. Its a solid table lamp with more than enough options to always create the look I'm after.

These led lamps are so cool! Setup is incredibly simple, just click to connect, plug in and go. The main cord is short but both come with an additional extension. Once plugged in and near each other both sync with one remote which I love! There are sooo many modes and colors, they are bright but not blinding (and can be dimmed). My kids are absolutely obsessed!
I can't recommend these enough and I'll be ordering more for gifts!

So I haven't tried to hook my phone up to it, but just using the controller you have a lot of options. It can stay one of seven solid colors (white light being one of them). You can adjust brightness, use various modes of movement and color combination and increase/decrease the movement speed. The assembly is super simple. It is plug and play. No screws or bolts. However, that also means it isn't perfectly straight because of all of the joints. It kind of leans to one side. The top spotlight automatically turns on when you tilt the head from being vertical and there's no way to control it from the remote. It is simply on when you tilt it and off when it's perfectly vertical. The only improvements would be if the joints between each section were thinner and they screwed together and could still rotate 360 degrees.
All in all I'm impressed with this light and would recommend it if you want something to add some ambiance lighting.

Right out of the box easy set up no instructions needed. More then One way to set up if you break all the rules. Many other potions to explore if you dare. Could be mounted on wall without base. Mojo.
